BananaMilestones 1

This is the first time we see Bananaman crash through the wall of Chief O'Reilly's office (Nutty Issue:17), this would become the norm as newly plastered walls would get hilariously destroyed every week.

Also you will notice the original Chief is different to the later strips, I love his Indian chief headdress, enjoy the full Nutty strip below.....

Bananaman History - Nutty Front Covers Part 3

Bananaman's 5th cover came from Issue 36 dated October 18th. It was the first Bananaman related free gift Nutty Comic would give away over the coming years. Unfortunately I have since lost this badge, but the cover is another big bold bright cover which I'm sure would of drawn new readers to buy it.

ANIMALMAN - Nutty Issue 16

Bananaman History - Nutty Front Covers Part 2

Bananaman History - Supervillians 1980 Part 1

In the later days of the Nutty Comic Bananaman came up against some regular super villains like General Blight, Weatherman etc. Strangely these characters were absent during 1980 but he still had his fair share of super villains to fight. Here is Part 1 where you can see the first two super villains of his Nutty Career.

DR CREAM - Nutty Issue 5 & 6

Dr Cream or as he would become Captain Cream, would returning over the years to try and beat Bananaman with his deadly cream gun..!!

MR TOT - Nutty Issue 9

Mr Tot was a villian in a nappy (only in the Nutty) and was suitable defeated by Bananaman with a Dummy.

Bananaman History - Nutty Comic 1980

It all began here 9th February 1980 in Nutty Comic No:1, not only was this DC Thomson's best new comic since Cracker in 1975 but it introduced the world to the one and only Bananaman. Drawn by the legendary John Geering who was also responsible for The Beano's Smudge & The Sparky's Puss 'n' Boots. He would become one of DCT most popular & commercially successful creations.

Here we see his first adventure from the back page of the first issue. There are a lot of differences from the Bananaman he became from the look of Eric Wimp to the differences in his costume, red trunks, red gloves and yellow, black mask. But these strips lived up to the comic title completely Nutty and just fantastic.

I will be covering all the major events in the history of certainly one of my favourite comic characters, covering the Nutty, Dandy, Annuals, TV and more. I hope you will enjoy and you never know it may even give DCT a nudge to bring out some specials this year...collectors book please.
